Abandoned

Yes, as the title suggests this blog of mine has been abandoned for 3months?! Seriously?

Oh well, today is my first day fasting in Seattle! Dear god, please give me the strength and faith to go through this challenge. Break fast is at 8pm here! Additional 1 and a half hours of fasting because its summer although its ending.ke

Next month, it will be half a year here. Time really flies huh… Soon i’ll be back home.

Im liking the life im living here. Work is alright, the people in the office are nice, plenty of places to go every weekend, relaxing place, its just you and what you want. Plenty of  “me” time. Although i do miss Shafie and my family and Phoebe the cat but i appreciate my time here. Perhaps i have singaporean housemates with me and we’re like one big family already so i guess not much of homesick.

As for activities and pictures, i have them all in facebook. Haha!

Ouch… pain pain…

Havent been updating for quite some time. Pretty tired at work. Everyday turn on pc and play game! Haha! OK la, its playtesting and write bug report and sometimes will changes the xml files if im assigned to the bugs. And finally, the game is launched last friday! Woohoo… After all that playtest and bugs, im so glad its out of the way. The QA guys are so hardworking, working late and on weekends to test the changes. Amazing. The amount of dedication they have for work. Its a good environment. People help each other, encourage one another, friendly and nice. Oh! I had to video capture the game for the boss! Wah scary, He is a big tall russian man. Ah scary with his deep voice. And he told me abt the work before lunch. Probably abt 1230 and he wants it done by 2! faints… imagine you have to play all the characters and capture the best scene. Haha… luckily he was nice and he thank me after that. Everyone likes to say “Thank you. I appreciate it  (add your name)” all the time.

Next on my list is my new game! Woohoo… I will have to do some c++ programming and scripting in the middle stage. Right now, putting every idea together so we can start doing some serious codings. Most of the codings will be done by the engineer, im like the other hand.

Alright, as my title goes, im really in pain, my thighs are like wood and jelly at the same time! Yesterday, i went hiking at Wallace Falls. Waterfall sounds easy to climb right… definitely not like Mount Ophir in Malaysia… Haha. But it was gorgeous view and also a good work out. Ben drove us there and we walked up and down for 6hours! But the time we head down its getting dark and it became dark after that. Really scary haha. We reached down at 930pm! But the sunset only at 9pm so it was pretty alright but its like speed walking down, almost fall but didnt. Some ground are pretty wet and squishy… Oh i got to see snow a little here and there on the ground. Its like those ice you will find on fishes at the market. The water from small stream are really cold. Ice water! But past was the super duper fresh air! The smell of  trees and waterfalls! Really relaxing… =)

A couple of weekends ago, Tomo-san bring us to Tulip town for Tulip Festival. Pretty flowers! and kissing horses. Haha! After that we went to Seattle Premium Outlet Store! And… they have Coach Factory! Woohoo… So thats where my money goes. Got a small bag for my mom and sis-in-law and a wallet for myself. Will save more and prepare for thanksgiving shopping super sale! haha! I saw oakley, fossil, ralph lauren but didnt went in. Spend too much time in coach. More trips to come!

Seattle library is so nice! I got my library card already too… And guess how many books i can borrow? 100 BOOKS! Haha! Super amazing right? You can go all the way up and zig zag your way down. Just like seattle! you have to climb up and down the hill. Really quiet unlike singapore libraries where you can hear kids shouting and running around. In fact, i didnt see any kid there. Hmmm… After that, we went to Uwajimaya – japanese supermarket. We got all our asian spice there. Yay! But i still havent find Belacan! Haha…

Finally, we catch our first movie here. Wolverine last weekend. And Star trek for free last friday, just a company day out… Wolverine on saturday cost us 10usd. Ouch. For star trek there wasnt any people outside the theatre door to check our tickets. My tickets are not torn, like brand new.

Went for dinner with Matt Rudge and Ben at Claim Jumper. Strawberry lemonade and Chocolate Motherlog Cake! Heaven! One slice of cake can feed 10 people! hahaha!

sakura!

finally have some time to blog.

again, workload is increasing though not taxing for now. =) and doreen found hot choco in the bottom drawer! yummy and delicious. hopefully i can reduce my coffee, no more once a day in the morning because definitely on weekends i will buy one esp if we walk pass the seattle’s best coffee place! gosh hazelnut latte… cant resist. better than starbucks!

anyways last saturday we went to university of washington to enjoy the blooming sakura trees. so pink and pretty! long long time ago before you and i were born, some japanese emperor or businessman gave washington state sakura trees as a token of friendship. something like that, so thats why there are alot of sakura trees here. even at the roadside at my work place. anyways uw is soooooooooo nice i tell you, nus is like some crappy building if compared to their uni. gorgeous like castle with mega huge fountain right in the middle. so beautiful. if i were to study here i think i’ll get double degrees with straight As. Hhaha!

went seattle to have dinner. seafood again this time cheaper ones. had fish and chips. not bad. was too full to finish it up and have to climb up to go back to the bus stop and guess what! we missed the last bus at the interchange. we have to take 2 buses. we were in time for the seattle one but the next bus, the bus driver drove off even before the timing! stranded at an empty bus interchange at 10.15pm. seriously scary! luckily there are two girls at the corner, we ask them for help and manage to get a cab. the cab is seriously expensive. 20usd for a short ride. probably from temasek poly to my home! just highway all the way. about 6-10mins ride. just went we thought that was our first and the last cab ride. we missed our last bus again the next day when we went grocery shopping at the korean supermarket. it was pouring like mad and we had to carry heavy groceries in backpack and in our hands. the bus once again came early and we were walking down the hill towards the bus top when i saw a bus turn to the bus stop! boohoo… this time 18usd. faints…

oh at seattle i bought a levis jeans on sale for…. drum roll… 19.90usd! yay! i know! =) we also went to sakura-con, a cosplay convention, we were just loitering outside the main entrance cause we got no pass… lots of people with costumes. mostly young people. interesting…

dan the boss bough a box of popcorn, inside has about 6 packet. omg so delicious! esp the chocolate ones. even the ones with weird name taste good. visit their website www.daleandthomaspopcorn.com, must bring back home some! i bet you guys want to have a taste! haha! yummy. probably open a franchise shop selling popcorn haha! and guess what, we leave it open on the kitchen counter overnight it is still crunchy! whoaaaaaaaa… imagine pasar malam popcorn… cannot compare!

Anyways been thinking about signing up for the gym. 20+ per month. way much cheaper compared to sg gym! its just that im not sure whether i have the time to spend. im still thinking about it.

Sushi and Curry Chicken…

As the title suggests, i had sushi last night for dinner and curry chicken just now. Feeling very full now. And i’m happy because i cooked them. Sushi was easy cause just cooked the rice and put your own topping inside. Probably will do it more often and when i come back i shall make some for everyone! Today’s dinner was chicken curry and i cooked them too! Kudos to me! I feel accomplished.

As for work, getting busier, i hope i’m not too slow. Work environment is really good too. Just now the boss pops in my room and ask whether am i settling ok. He suggest we should enjoy our weekends. Go here and there and stuff. People here are genuinely nice. Really interesting.

Anyways, last saturday night there was 5 police cars outside my neighbour’s house and i saw a guy being handcuffed and let into the patrol car. Didnt realize the police was just outside my house. I was walking pass my living room and i saw alot of cars headlight to i went towards the window to “kaypoh”. Was shocked to see so many patrol cars. Not sure what is it about though. But the opposite house has only 2 ladies. Didnt see any parents or anyone older before. Looks like college girls. Shrugs.

Also, on saturday, we went to seattle! Woohoo… Im in awe most of the time though it looks like your typically american cities with building and the blocks. However, seattle is an uphill! i got a picture of starbucks outlet on a hill… haha! and i saw limousine! (like i never seen one before) the bay view esp looking at the mountains was simply breath- taking. Had my seafood dinner there too but i guess we ate at a upmarket ones cause the price is steep. my alaskan crab taste like normal crab with alot of meat haha, no succulent taste. lolx. nice experience though.

On sunday was cleaning day and grocery shopping. Went to alderwood mall again and i was stuck at the disney store. i bought a dumbo and stitch soft toy, really cute and soft. i bought a tee – nightmare before christmas character and i wore it today in the office, and matt the engineer said “cool shirt!” – yay! also i bought my niece and newphew tees – was on sale. 4.99each. =)

Next on my list would be to control my shopping haha! must be discipline!

Yes yes, been shopping and i’m always very tired after dinner. Today is laundry day, i dont think i can tahan till my clothes are dry so that i can fold it. Im too full to sleep either. Been waking up at 8 am every morning and rushing to eat breakfast and bathe and dress up (putting on alot of moisturizer) within 30mins is really tough. Keep pushing myself day in and day out to survive here by myself. Though i do miss home but it is just no time for me to sit and stare at the ceiling thinking about home. Also, thanks to the internet, i skype with my family and shafie every friday and saturday night here. That really perks me up.

I look forward for tuesday cause its laundry day – fresh clothes, i look forward for weekends the most – fri, sat and sun! fun fun fun.

I miss you baby dear. Save more money okaes, i want both the car and your trip here! Haha. Anyways, keep on practising your 3d. You’re good already anyways, be more magnificient. =) You can do it.

How are you guys? Feeling good? Hows work? And what about you, Fala? Everything good? I guess its easier to ‘find’ Fala during the weekdays rather than the weekends. Haha! Shopping only! Not for me! I’m cutting back on my spenditure and especially buying toys! Saving up to visit HER! Yay!!! Hopefully everything goes well.

And it will be nice to save more money to get YARIS 09! keke… I WANT MY INCREMENT! haha… then again, economy sucks. haiz….

Its even  suckier to be GROUNDED!

Well, did some 3D modeling during my free time now. Not sure about you guys but do you remeber Robocain? The villain from the old skool movie, ROBOCOP 2? Tyring to model the thing out. Its been tedious and tough but here are progress pics. Issit nice?

What to do…?

Fala seems very busy this whole week. Having to work in the day and cook in the evening, do laundry, house-cleaning etc. Must be very tiring for her. I guess she’s doing ok, seems to get comfortable living there. That’s great news… Just go through this for another 11 months and 17 days… BLA!

It’s been a tiring week for me. Projects starting to pick up. Quite a good sign for the economy… although some say its over and yet some say it might go down. We just have to live our life a day at a time now. Neways, weekend for me seems boring during the day. Got nothing to do as all most of my  friends are night people. Therefore, Im basically dump myself  in my room the entire day; besides going out for a jog.

I’m planning to get a weekend job. Fix computer at SIM LIM? Freelance visualizations? Anything? Anyone can help? keke… Just wanna kill some time. I could however go to the movies or window shopping but i would rather earn than spend? haha…

Btw, went down to Walton the other day to find out more about land investments. BAH! Also had a talk to my friend about Forex trading and also investing in properties and unit trusts. Its interesting to know how but not keen to really “play” this things; they really require alot of time and research. At least for now, i know how investment works. Haha! Good money…! =)

Well, what should i do next weekend??? Need a new hobby… hmmm? Join a chess club? or checkers? Love CHECKERS!! Should I learn to swim? HAHA! Its weird for my case, I can swim but I can’t float. So if i swim to a destination, I would probably drown if i were to stop half way. HAHA.. Oh YA! Its good Friday, a long weekend! Oh my… WAT SHUD I DO!???

shoes, Shoes, SHOES!!!

Work is great when you love what you do and have great colleagues and bosses who are very reasonable. Haha… Yeah! Neways, went to Darul Aman mosque after work. Rush my work the whole day just to attend a talk by one of the Ustaz. Very nice! I just knew that babies in their mother’s womb are soulless until the 120th day, 3 months. After 3 months, when the baby has a soul, parents can actually begin talking and letting the baby listen to misc sounds. Cool!

Well, tomorrow will be a long day. Got project submission on Friday, will be quite tough as the project size if quite big. All the best! I wish i could meet Fala this weekend. Really missing her… =(

Neways!, some shoes to DIE FOR! Gonna stress Fala on this cause its my birthday coming UP!! Yay!!

happy 46th month-versary!

Almost midnight now and im blogging. Yes im very tired. Usually i sleep around 10pm but today a little later because im waiting for my laundry to be done. The girls split up our laundry, clothes under delicate wash and jeans under normal wash because the dryer was too hot for my tops but ok for jeans, it left 4 holes on my new top. boohoo!

Anyways, last weekend the group went shopping yay! Saturday was house cleaning! Tiring and the sun shine the brightest! I wish we were heading to seattle instead. Even with the brightest sun you could have here, the wind and air is still cold and dry. You dont see people outside much, everyone in their car or at home. But neighbours, bus driver, sheriff, grocery store people are really nice. On Sunday, we finally reach our destination. Alderwood Mall. 3 hours not enough to cover every area! The girls supposed to meet the boys at our meeting point after 2 hours but the girls were late haha… Shopping you know! How can you put a time limit for that? Well, i did some damages to my pocket. Happy that i could find clothes here unlike in sg! All so small and boring and expensive!

Tmr is half day at work! We’re having celebration for us! Haha welcoming us into the company. I’m excited for lunch! Before that in the morning, we’ll have to attend harassment workshop, to talk about racism and sexual harassment or other harassment at workplace. Should be interesting i guess. We’ll also be celebrating the month’s birthday.

Im also thinking of getting a glove to touch mozart, his the boss’ dog who sometimes visit the office. omg! he is so adorable can? i want to play catch with him. i took a video of my friend playing catch with him… so active.

Lastly in my post, i have to give a shout out to my dearest dear, shafie. Happy 46th month-versary! More to go. I’m kind of sad that we couldnt celebrate our long awaited days like your birthday, our 4th celebration and our 50th month-versary! So many good dates yet we’re GROUNDED! haha. i guess we have to rely on technology then. Internet rules! yay! Haha…  love you truckloads!

do i need it or do i want it?

Its been a few days since i wrote something here. Ben quite busy lately. Had some reservist briefing on Saturday which is a waste of time! But I did manage to catch up with many of my army buddies. They have bikes, cars and bikes and cars… I just got an EZ Link card =) When i got back home, my family decided to have lunch/dinner and East Coast. It was an OK dinner, stingray, kangkong, BBQ chicken, satay etc… the normal stuff if you know what I mean. Got back in the evening, and i SLEPT at 9PM! As soon after i turn off the lights! hahha… EARTH DAY! keke…

Sunday, manage to talk to FALA on skype!! YAY!! although I dont have a smic, she talks while i type. Hahaha… I don’t feel like Fala is in Seattle. We call each other, sms, email and skype! Haha… I feel like she is at Punggol just that both of us are GROUNDED FOR A YEAR?? Hahaha… When to my bro’s place to play with my nephew, EMRE! Went to make a new pair of glasses and then head home in the evening.

I was very excited to hear that Fala got the internet back at home. She did manage to create her first post since in Seattle; showing OFF HER BEAUTIFUL HOUSE and neighbourhood! Not like here in Singapore… What do you get when you add someone who doesnt bath in the morning, mixed it with 12 hrs of dry sweat and deadliest body odour in the world; rub a layer off thick sticky sweat and add a pinch of sesame oil….?

Ans: “THOSE WORKERS WHO EITHER HAS NO SENSE OF SMELL OR THEY THINK THEY SMELL NORMAL!! ARGH!”

But wait, apart from discriminating them, I got to mention the girls who BATH IN PERFUME! OH MY GODDD! When they walk in the mrt, the whole train will knows they’re on board! I saw this girl outside the train who was about to enter and as soon as the doors open, I sneezed once, twice and THRICE and many MORE! GEEEZZ… she probably bath in gallons of perfume! Gosh, they either stink like rotten cheese or smell like the a walking perfume bottle… Please people, please HELP!

That brings me to this topic. To get away from this people, one should get his or her own transport. That’s why, for me to have a normal nose end of day, I should GET A CAR! YAY! Haha… Got my eye on this one… TOYOTA YARIS 2009. How much; i dont know yet… Issit nice to you?

2am and still awake!

Hello everyone!

Finally we got internet in the house, thats explain the title! 2am and still awake. haha! which is terrible. we are seriously deprived of internet for one week. we are addicts! net addicts!

i’m really happy that i can skype with shafie and my family. really happy to see them. and also phoebe!!! missing my irritating cat. i skype with my mom for one hour! she is so sweet you know, she even learn how to type and email me. haha! so funnie when i read the email. and finally, shafie got to see my face and also see me folding my laundry.

talking about laundry i think the dryer was too long, one of my long sleeve tee has 4 tiny holes at the bottom. faints! because i was just too lazy to separate my jeans and tops for dryer. now i really learn my lesson. one top gone everytime i wash will be very expensive to replace at the end.

anyways, if you want to chat with me online when im at home, do add me in skype, my username is falaumainasharil. prefer skype because somehow i couldnt connect to msn when im using my lappie in my room. weird. skype can, msn cannot. sucks! the boys are still outside playing game and surfing the net. i think everyone will wake up late tmr! but me and sam need to head down to the airport to pick up doreen, the last girl to arrive from the first batch.

im currently using my laptop cooling fan now cause my lappie was heating up really quickly when i was skype-ing. the fan is like a little small breeze, it does help but 50-50. Haha!

ok then, im off to bed. really tired. this is by far the latest i’ve been awake here. usually i sleep by 11pm, yes i know very early for a night owl like me who only sleeps at 2am or 3 even. i’m having a little light headed already.
